Treatment for Seborrhoeic Dermatitis
Seborrhoeic dermatitis is a chronic
inflammatory disease and the lipophilic yeast is the main factor
responsible for the occurrence of the disease. The scalp with the
prevalence of the disease has dandruff ranging from mild to dense
and it is characterized by the powdered greasy scale in the
margins of the hair. It mainly occurs on the head and trunk of the
confined areas of the sebaceous glands and it is considered to be
a genetic and environmental factor. The disease generally
influences the sebocyte and adheres to the androgen stimulation
and results in the scaly scalp. Seborrhoeic disease can be
improved with the response to the antifungal medications and it is
produced due to the hormonal influences in the human body.
Patients suffering from seborrhoeic dermatitis

of flaky and itchy scalp. The scalp is seen with ill defined dry
pink color skin with the existence of colored patches of yellow
and white scale. Seborrhoeic dermatitis appears in the eyelids,

and in the upper back causing pink flat patches all over the body.
The symptoms may be itchy and it varies day by day.
Seborrhoeic dermatitis is caused mainly due to
the existence of the yeast called Malassezia and it produces toxic
elements on the scalp that induces irritation. Patients prone to
the disease of Seborrhoeic dermatitis have less resistance power
to the yeast. The disease is not contagious and do not pertain to
food restriction. Seborrhoeic dermatitis may sometimes be
aggravated by illness, stress, fatigue and reduction in health.
Patients having the disease of Parkinson’s
and strokes are prone to the disease of Seborrhoeic dermatitis.
The disease is prevalent even to the newborn babies of six months
old and it affects the skin creases of the human body. Both the
genders are focused to the prevalence of Seborrhoeic dermatitis
and it is not a contagious disease.
The treatment for Seborrhoeic dermatitis is the
application of medications such as the selenium sulfide,
ketoconazole ingredient based shampoos, terbinafine solution,
topical sodium sulfacetamide and application of topical steroids
can minimize the disease. Regular usage of antifungal agents and
medicated shampoos helps in bringing Seborrhoeic dermatitis to a
control. Application of steroid medications on the scalp helps in
controlling of the itchiness and controls the production of
dandruff flakes.
Seborrhoeic dermatitis can be prevented by the
adoption of plant based treatments and the consumption of biotin
supplements. Usage of the humidifier in the bedroom helps in the
moisturizing of the scalp while you sleep. Application of the milk
of magnesia helps in the clearing of the patches on the skin and
scalp that are created by the Seborrhoeic dermatitis.
